Watch Our Latest VLog: Beth & Tim Discuss Evangelism & Young People

A Story of Transformation from Kim

“Since starting Youth for Christ back in July, I have focused greatly on building relationships with young people at school through RE lessons, Fresh Christian Union, Debate Club, and other out-of-school clubs. Meeting so many new people over the last few months and getting to know them has been such a pleasure, and one student who I’ve got to know in particular is one girl. I see her around school and I also help in one of her RE lessons.

One lesson, while everyone was working quietly, she called me over completely out of the blue and said, “I want to be a Christian”. We had a great whispered conversation (due to the fact that everyone was in a lesson working!) but it wasn’t long before the teacher spoke up and got the class’s attention back. I got the opportunity to quickly invite her to Fresh Christian Union but unfortunately our conversation was cut short. From then, I didn’t see her anywhere in school for the next few weeks and I was wondering where she was and how she was doing.

Thankfully a few weeks later she turned up at Fresh (along with 9 other new faces!) and we had an Easter Party with a Bible-themed Easter Egg hunt. We talked about the fact that God loves us so much that he came and died for us, rising again so that we can have eternal life. Through Jesus, we can be called children of God. I look forward to more conversations and opportunities, so please pray for her – that she would continue to come to Fresh and, more importantly, continue to seek God.”
